For a 6x4 thermal printer, set Royal Mail Click & Drop to the 6x4 Separate label format; for Evri, look for the thermal setting in your account or skip printing with a ParcelShop QR code. A label that still arrives as an A4 page should be cropped, never shrunk: Royal Mail itself warns that a resized label may not scan. 6x4 is the British name for 4x6 — the same 152 x 102 mm label.
Royal Mail Click & Drop label formats

Two details catch people out. The integrated label with a despatch note can only be printed on A4, so choosing it rules out a thermal printer. And reprinting uses your current settings, so after switching to 6x4 an old label reprints as 6x4 too.
Printing a 6x4 Royal Mail label on a Mac
- In Click & Drop, set the label format to 6x4 Separate.
- Open the label PDF in Preview and choose File → Print.
- Pick the thermal printer and set Paper Size to 4 x 6 in or 100 x 150 mm (a 6 x 4 label is the same size, rotated).
- Set Scale to 100% and print.
If the label prints small or sideways, the file is still an A4 page; if it prints cut off, the paper size has margins. The 100 x 150 mm test label tells you which in one print.
Evri
Evri's UK help pages do not spell out label sizes. Sellers have reported a thermal (102 x 152 mm) option under the account's printer settings, and Evri International states that it provides both A4 and 4x6 labels. If your account only gives you A4, crop the label out of the page rather than scaling the page down.
If you have no printer at all, Evri's Print In ParcelShop prints it for you from a QR code or a six-digit code, and Evri lockers can print too.
Without a printer: Labels to Go
Royal Mail's Labels to Go emails a QR code that a Post Office or other drop-off scans to print the label, free of charge. A few services are excluded, including Tracked with Age Verification.
Cropping an A4 label to 6x4
For labels that only come as a page — A4 Separate, an Evri A4 label, or anything from a marketplace such as Vinted — cut the label out at its original size.
